Among the many bands he's been a part of, one of the most significant was Sons of the Desert, with whom he recorded two demos and one full-length CD between 1990 and 1994. This period marked a highlight in his musical career, as he shared the stage with both rising and established acts.

His journey with Sons of the Desert took him to some of the most iconic stages in the Netherlands, including Eland Delft, Paard in Den Haag, OLS Den Haag, Tivoli Utrecht (the original venue), and Paradiso Amsterdam. Born and raised in France, J.B. Boulay has been drumming to the rhythm of progressive rock since a young age. With a deep love for complex time signatures and intricate rhythms, he has played in numerous bands across Europe, honing his craft in a wide range of styles and projects. His musical journey eventually brought him to the Netherlands, where he now resides.

Known for his versatility and technical prowess, J.B. Boulay is a powerhouse behind the kit, bringing both precision and creativity to every performance. His passion for music has made him a key contributor to the sound of our band, where his experience and energy drive the dynamic, powerful grooves that shape our rock identity.

Meet Niels,

Niels Ypenburg, the backbone of our band’s rhythm section, brings a rich musical history rooted in funk and cover bands. With a deep groove and smooth technique, Niels' playing is the pulse that holds everything together. His experience in funk has gifted him an innate sense of rhythm and feel, allowing him to lock in with the drums and create dynamic, danceable bass lines that give our music its drive.
